OUR PRACTICE
We are treating patients with all kinds of psychological disorders across all age ranges in the Eastern part of the city center of Leipzig. We provide a broad range of treatments in various therapeutical settings. All our treatments are based on state of the art scientific evidence. We provide initial consulations with experienced colleagues who not olny create individualized therapeutic concepts but may also provide transfers to more specialized colleagues. Our psychotherapeutic practice also hosts psychotherapists in training from various schools as well as we hosts internships. Through a combination of individual therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, video based feedback sessions, and family meetings we provide the therapy based on all your individual needs.

GROUP THERAPY
Group therapies are an effective psychotherapeutic method for alleviating mental illnesses. They are as successful as individual therapies and offer additional benefits that individual therapy cannot provide. Patients experience acceptance and understanding from others in the group, receive support, and also have the opportunity to offer support themselves. In group therapy, participants meet and have the opportunity to exchange experiences. Patients realize that they are not alone, and this exchange can have a relieving effect. Additionally, social skills can be practiced in a safe environment, such as giving and receiving criticism, saying “no,” expressing personal wishes, and dealing with feedback afterward.
Group Therapy Juliane Sim
In my practice, I offer what is called goal-open group therapy (ZVG), where I work with behavioral and schema therapeutic methods as well as ACT. The concept of ZVG means that a patient brings a topic to the session, and it is worked on together with the other group participants and myself. The therapy session always begins with an orientation round, where you briefly report what currently occupies you most regarding the therapy, what your topic for the group session would be, and whether you would like to make this topic the focus of the group session. The majority of the session is then dedicated to working on the topic. We conclude with a final round, where you briefly describe what was most important to you in the therapy session and what you would like to take from it into your daily life. Group rules play a crucial role in ensuring that you will hopefully come to the group with a growing sense of trust and safety. The groups usually meet weekly during school terms and typically consist of 7-10 patients. A session lasts about 100 minutes. Group therapy sessions can be combined with individual sessions at any time.
In addition to five regular German-speaking groups, I now also offer an English group and a trial group. The trial group, which spans six weeks, is designed to introduce new patients to my therapy methods, concepts, and ideas so that they can get an impression of my work and determine whether this model suits them. Afterward, participants are distributed among the other five groups.
Current Groups:
Group 1: Monday 12:00-13:45
Group 2: Monday 14:00-15:45
Group 3: Wednesday 8:00-9:45
Group 4: Wednesday 14:00-15:45
Group 5: Tuesday 8:00-9:45
Group 6 (English): Wednesday 12:00-13:45
Trail Group: Monday 8:00-9:45
COSTS
The statutory health insurance (GKV) generally covers the costs for outpatient psychotherapy if a mental illness is present. In the psychotherapeutic consultation, it is determined whether psychotherapy is appropriate.
Before the therapy begins, there are initial sessions (probatory sessions) where the patient and therapist discuss treatment goals and assess how well they work together. After that, an application for cost coverage is submitted to the health insurance provider.
The costs for the treatment are only covered if the therapist or doctor has a contract with the statutory health insurance.
In our practice, we offer psychotherapeutic treatment for all patients, regardless of whether you are publicly insured, privately insured, or self-paying. Our licensed therapists can bill statutory health insurance providers, and there is also the option of the reimbursement procedure.
For more information on private services, please contact the respective therapist.
